What you will be doing:

Independently undertake assignments including:

  • System Design & Integration
    • Apply an in-depth understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems, and their interactions.
    • Integrate and manage interfaces between systems and components.
    • Design systems using Systems Engineering principles, including the use of robust design tools and techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.
  • Problem Resolution & Technical Investigations
    • Lead and take ownership of root cause investigations and problem reports.
    • Work on Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports (SARs), Quality Concerns, Major Quality Investigations (MQIs), Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs), and other technical issues.
    • Navigate ambiguity and provide clear, structured engineering solutions.
  • Requirements Management & Product Verification
    • Determine, manage and cascade system-level requirements effectively.
    • Plan and manage product changes, design technical approvals, and technical investigations.
    • Verify that systems meet defined requirements and take ownership of standardization reports.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Team Collaboration
    • Communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels, including customers.
    • Work with and coordinate extended (i.e. not necessarily co-located) multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Contribute to the enhancement of systems engineering processes and tools.
    • Support initiatives to improve reliability, maintainability, and performance of product systems.

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies with an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts including (but not limited to) manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering, and product definition.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.
  • Knowledge and experience of product integrity/liability and certification frameworks.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in complex, multi-disciplinary engineering environments.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to the region.
  • (In the UK: attained or working towards Chartered status is preferred; equivalent regional variations apply.)
  • Prior experience in power systems, gas turbine systems, or related engineering fields.
  • Exposure to robust systems engineering and problem-resolution methodologies.
